CLARK FORK WATER-QUALITY MONITORINGRetrieve Water Quality DataAnalytical data for water samples collected periodically at water-quality stations (fig. 1) in the Clark Fork basin are available for retrieval. All data for the period of record at each station can be retrieved; however, it is important to note that recent data collected within the current water year are considered “provisional”. Approved data for prior years have been reviewed, quality assured, and approved for publication by the USGS. Provisional data are preliminary, have not received final approval, and may be revised or deleted during subsequent quality-assurance reviews. They are available for inspection and most values are unlikely to change substantially, but caution is urged in using provisional data for detailed analysis or final assessments. Provisional data for the current water year typically are approved by March of the following year. Links to options for retrieving water-quality data are provided in the following table. Clicking on the button for “Period of Record” will retrieve all available data for all constituents for the period of record. Clicking on the button for “Customized” will take you to a summary of available constituents for the site, period of record for each constituent, and an option to specify the time period for your retrieval. Data for any USGS water-quality site also can be retrieved from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis).
